Hello!

My name is Georgina Petronella and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW).

I’ve worked in a variety of clinical settings that inform my approach.  Before starting my private practice, I worked as a school-based therapist for students in middle and high school. I have a long history of volunteering and working with young people, including at a center specializing in grief and loss and at a child advocacy center.  I also have had the privilege of working with a racially, socially, and economically diverse adult population while at a community outpatient clinic. I am passionate about what I do and train regularly in Modern Analytic Theory, group therapy, and other modalities.

I am licensed in the states of Texas (license number #68473) and Virginia (license number #0904015343). I encourage you to verify my license by going here for Texas and here for Virginia.

I received my Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas and have an undergraduate degree in English Literature from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Before becoming a social worker, I worked in the nonprofit world as a grant writer and editor.

I am a native Texan and a second-generation therapist in my family.  When not at work, I enjoy arguing with my ornery cat, Cricket.
